New version of LSID Browser plugin for Firefox released

Version 1.0.1 of the LSID Browser plugin for Firefox has been released. This version fixes the problem with DNS lookup that was preventing earlier versions from working properly.

With the interruption of service from lsid.biopathways.org, earlier versions (1.0.0 and earlier) of the LSID Browser for Firefox stopped working. Those versions of the plugin depended on a webservice from that website to perform DNS SRV record lookups.

We have now patched the LSID browser to use another instance of the DNS lookup webservice at lsid.tdwg.org. To resume resolving lsidres URLs in Firefox, just upgrade your plugin to version 1.0.1.
